Firefighters performing roof ventilation with a rescue saw

Fire Rescue Saws

Choose The Saw System By Mission.

A ventilation chainsaw and a rotary rescue saw are different tools built for different work. Before you compare powerheads, decide what your crews need to cut, then configure the bar, chain or blade, and service plan around that mission.

EFES builds the current Truckman's Choice fire-rescue chainsaw line, stocks parts for rescue-saw fleets, and services saws long after the sale.

01Before You Compare Saws

The mission decides the saw.

A roof crew cutting for ventilation and a crew opening metal or masonry are not solving the same problem, and no single saw solves both equally well.

Start with the material and the job, then match the saw, chain or blade, and accessories to it — that decision matters more than any spec sheet.

Mission Paths

Four ways departments come to EFES

Each path below leads to a different part of the site. Start with the one that matches what your department needs right now.

FrequentlyAsked Questions

Rescue saw and ventilation chainsaw questions

They are different tool classes with different cutting systems. A ventilation chainsaw drives a chain around a guide bar; a rotary rescue saw drives a circular blade. Match the saw, chain or blade to the material, the operation, manufacturer guidance, department SOPs, and crew training before comparing models.

No. Truckman's Choice is EFES's own current fire-rescue chainsaw line. It is not Cutters Edge and is not affiliated with Cutters Edge or Edge Industries. EFES's history as a former Cutters Edge service center informs its saw experience, but the brands are separate.

Both the 372XP-TC and 572XP-TC carry a shared package: West Coast Filter and velocity stack, D starter handle, one-step starting, momentary contact switch, full-wrap handle, solid-steel alloy guide bar, scrench tool, and Bullet raker ventilation chain. A depth guard is optional. Every saw carries a two-year warranty.

EFES lists repair and maintenance for Cutters Edge, Truckman's Choice, Tempest/Ventmaster, Husqvarna, Jonsered, and Redmax rescue saws. Contact the shop with the model and issue so the team can confirm the appropriate service path.

Yes. EFES supports named legacy Cutters Edge chainsaw and rotary saw models with repair, maintenance, and OEM replacement parts. See the Cutters Edge parts and service page for the models currently listed, and contact EFES before shipping anything.

EFES is based at 440 Oak Street, Lemoyne, PA 17043. To configure a saw, request parts, or start a service conversation, contact EFES or call (800) 504-2044.
