01Specialist chain service
Carbide cutters need diamond-abrasive tooling.
A standard chain file works on ordinary steel cutters. Carbide needs a different edge and a different tool.
Bullet® Chain and other carbide-tipped chains use a much harder cutting edge, and sharpening that edge requires specialized diamond-abrasive equipment. Depth gauges on some chains may still be filed according to the manufacturer's instructions, but the carbide cutter needs the right tooling and chain-specific judgment.
EFES works on Bullet® Chain and other carbide-tipped chains in the same Lemoyne shop that services fire-rescue saws. Your chain is evaluated in fire-service context, not treated like an ordinary wood-cutting loop.

03Read the cut
Know when to pull a chain.
If a chain is cutting slower than normal or you are forcing the saw through material, stop and inspect the system. Chain condition, tension, lubrication, and the saw itself can all affect performance.
If cutters are missing or heavily damaged, take the chain out of service and follow the chain manufacturer's inspection guidance before it goes back on a saw. Exact damage limits and service settings vary by chain; do not apply one manufacturer's numbers to every loop.
