Roto-Ray lineup

Roto-Ray modelsspecs, mounts and current pricing

EFES builds Roto-Rays in Lemoyne, Pennsylvania, and configures each one to order. A complete order needs a model (4000 or 200), a mount and finish, three lamp colors, and a hot-post circuit. This guide covers those choices, current displayed prices for each housing, and a checklist for your apparatus committee or upfitter.

01Configuration overview

The model is the first of six decisions.

Model 4000 and Model 200 answer one question: which lamp format you are starting with.

They do not answer where the assembly mounts, which finish belongs on the cab, which three lamp colors you need, or how the light should behave when the parking brake engages. Those choices are separate steps in the EFES builder and become part of the final order code. Work through them with the people responsible for the apparatus, installation, and local requirements. A complete decision up front gives EFES and your upfitter something specific to verify before the order moves forward.

The current builder

Model 4000 and Model 200: where a build starts

The current EFES builder identifies two models. It does not publish a complete side-by-side performance sheet, so use the model names below as the first selection and confirm any electrical, dimensional, or installation details your build requires.

01

Model 4000

The current builder labels this option “Roto-Ray 4000 LED Emergency Warning Light.” EFES's current product description presents the familiar three-lamp package with PAR 46 LEDs, a spur-gear drive, and a 16-gauge steel housing. After choosing the 4000, the builder moves through motor housing, three individual lamp colors, and hot-post circuit. Do not stop at the model name. The finished order code records all six selections.

02

Model 200

The current builder labels this option “Roto-Ray 200 Sealed Beam Emergency Warning Light.” Choose it when the sealed-beam format belongs in the specification you are working from, then complete the same housing, color, and circuit steps in the online builder. If you are replacing an older unit or working from a prior apparatus build sheet, send that information to EFES so the team can confirm the current nomenclature and configuration before you order.

Sealed beam

Neither model settles the complete build. The housing controls the displayed price, while mount, finish, lamp colors, and circuit behavior determine how the order fits the apparatus and operating plan.

02Six-part order code

The six selections on an order

The online builder creates the order code from six selections. Only the motor-housing selection changes the displayed price; the other choices complete the configuration. Work straight through the sequence, then review the code with EFES and the responsible apparatus builder or upfitter.

01

Choose the model

Start with Model 4000 LED or Model 200 sealed beam. This sets the model segment at the front of the order code. Confirm any model-specific technical details you need with EFES rather than carrying values over from older literature.

02

Match the motor housing to the apparatus

Choose the mount and finish together. The builder supplies apparatus recommendations for most housing families, but they are starting points. The actual cab, grille, model year, clearances, and prior modifications still need a fit review.

03

Choose lamp color one

Select red, white, blue, green, or amber for the first lamp position. Treat the color choice as part of the complete apparatus warning-light plan, not as a stand-alone approval for a jurisdiction or operating mode.

04

Choose lamp colors two and three

Repeat the color decision for the remaining two positions. Recording each lamp separately supports single-color and mixed-color builds without relying on an ambiguous description such as “red and white.”

05

Choose hot-post circuit behavior

Select single or dual circuit based on what should happen when the parking brake engages. Single stops rotation and illumination. Dual stops rotation and changes the light to flash mode. Match that behavior to the department's operating procedure.

06

Confirm the complete order

Review the model, housing code, all three color codes, and circuit code together. Then confirm fit, current price, technical requirements, and timing with EFES before the build is treated as final.

Current displayed prices

Compare the housing choices.

The EFES builder currently keys the displayed configured-unit price to the motor-housing selection. Mount style and finish account for the price differences shown below; model, lamp colors, and circuit do not change the price displayed by the current builder. Use the table to compare choices, then confirm the live price on the completed order and quote. Prices shown are the builder's current prices.

03Mount and fit

Use the builder's fit notes as a starting point.

The EFES builder associates its front mount with Pierce, Sutphen, Rosenbauer, KME, and Ferrara; the pedestal bullet mount with Spartan; and the E-One front mount with E-One.

It points to a 2-inch hidden shaft through the grille for Seagrave and a 4-inch hidden shaft through the grille for Pierce and Rosenbauer. Pole-mount choices are also available without a named apparatus recommendation.

Those notes narrow the first conversation, but they do not guarantee fit. Cab and grille details can change by model, year, and build, and existing equipment can alter the available space. Confirm the physical mounting plan with the builder or upfitter working from the actual apparatus, then have EFES verify the housing choice before ordering.

03

Colors and circuit

Set three colors and one parking-brake behavior.

Lamp color and hot-post circuit are independent choices in the builder. Record all three lamp positions, then choose the circuit behavior that matches the department's on-scene procedure. Both decisions should be reviewed in the context of the complete warning-light package.

01

Lamp colors

Each of the three lamp positions can be set to red, white, blue, green, or amber. Which colors are appropriate depends on the vehicle, jurisdiction, and operating mode. Coordinate the combination with the apparatus builder or upfitter and confirm it with the authority having jurisdiction. The online choice itself is not a statement of legal or standards compliance.

R / W / B / G / A

02

Single circuit

With the single hot-post circuit, the light stops spinning and illuminating when the parking brake is engaged. Use that exact behavior in the apparatus review so the committee, installer, and operators understand that the Roto-Ray goes dark at the parking-brake event.

Code S

03

Dual circuit

With the dual hot-post circuit, the light stops spinning and changes to flash mode when the parking brake is engaged. The lamp remains an active warning source but no longer rotates. Confirm that transition against the department's operating procedure and the rest of the warning-light controls.

Code D

04

Final review

Read the three color codes and the circuit code back with the complete build. A mixed-color order is clearer when every lamp position is recorded, and circuit behavior should never be left as an assumption between the apparatus committee, upfitter, and EFES.

FrequentlyAsked Questions

Ordering a current Roto-Ray configuration

The current EFES online builder identifies Model 4000, the Roto-Ray 4000 LED Emergency Warning Light, and Model 200, the Roto-Ray 200 Sealed Beam Emergency Warning Light. If you are working from older literature or a prior build sheet with different nomenclature, confirm the current model and order code with EFES before purchase.

The current builder displays configured-unit prices from $3,268.75 to $3,640, determined by the motor-housing selection. Model, lamp colors, and circuit do not currently change the displayed price. Treat that range as online comparison information, not a permanent quote, and confirm the current price on the completed configuration with EFES.

Start with the apparatus recommendations in the builder, then verify the actual cab or grille. Model year, clearances, existing brackets, and other front-mounted equipment can affect the choice. The builder's recommendations narrow the options but do not guarantee fit. Coordinate with the apparatus builder or upfitter and ask EFES to confirm the housing code.

The builder lets you choose red, white, blue, green, or amber independently for each of three positions. What belongs on a particular apparatus depends on the jurisdiction, vehicle, and operating mode. Review the complete combination with the apparatus builder or upfitter and the authority having jurisdiction before finalizing it.

Both choices define what happens when the parking brake engages. Single circuit stops the light spinning and illuminating. Dual circuit stops the light spinning and changes it to flash mode. Confirm the intended behavior with the department and installer so the choice matches the apparatus controls and on-scene operating procedure.

The recommendations are starting points based on apparatus make. Final fit depends on the specific cab, grille, model year, clearances, and existing equipment. Provide those details to the responsible builder or upfitter and to EFES. Do not treat a make listed beside a housing code as a guarantee that no fit review is needed.

Use the online builder to select the model, motor housing, three lamp colors, and hot-post circuit. It creates the order code and current displayed price, then lets you add the build to the cart. Contact EFES if fit or technical details need confirmation. EFES confirms lead time after the order is placed.
