What this is+

A protection and organisation case rather than a charging station. SON-SC3, SON-SC5, and SON-SC10 are the non-charging equivalents of the SON-CC charging cases, in the same three-, five-, and ten-user sizes.

When to buy this instead+

When the crew already has a reliable charging point — a shop bench, a truck installation, a wall of chargers — and the case only has to get the equipment there and back intact. If the case has to be where the system charges, buy the charging version instead.

Pricing and support+

Displayed prices reproduce the supplied Sonetics 2022 price list, effective July 7, 2022. EFES quotes the case with the system it belongs to, because the foam follows the headset models rather than a user count. Call (800) 504-2044.

Product overview

A system case is the charging case without the charging. Same watertight Pelican Storm shell, same custom foam dividers cut for the equipment, same protection in transit and in storage — and no wiring harness inside it.

That is the right buy in one specific situation: the crew already has somewhere reliable to charge. A shop bench with a bank of chargers, a truck with a permanent installation, a facility where the system lives on a wall. In that case the harness is money spent on capability that duplicates something you already have, and the case is doing the job it needs to do.

It is the wrong buy everywhere else. If the case is where the system lives between jobs, the charging version is what keeps the system reliably ready, because a system without one charging point is a system where somebody eventually misses a headset.

Three sizes follow the three Apex system sizes: SON-SC3, SON-SC5, and SON-SC10. The foam is cut for a specific equipment count, so a gap is how a crew notices a headset did not come back before they leave the site.

For the charging versions see Apex charging cases; for systems with Apex Connect units in them see Apex Connect cases.

What the case does

Protection and organisation, nothing more

This is a deliberately narrower product than the charging case. That is the point of it.

01

Watertight Pelican Storm case

The same case as the charging version: watertight, with custom foam dividers that protect the headsets and the ComHub in transit and in storage.

02

No charging harness

The distinguishing feature. If the crew already has a reliable charging point, the harness duplicates it — and this is the case that leaves it out.

The reason to buy it

03

Sized to the system

SON-SC3, SON-SC5, and SON-SC10 match the three-, five-, and ten-user Apex system sizes, so the foam holds exactly the equipment the crew was issued.

3, 5, and 10 user

04

A visible inventory check

Foam cut for a specific equipment count means a gap is how a crew notices a headset did not come back, before they leave the site rather than after.

05

Rolls to the work

A ten-user case is heavy however it is specified, and the case is built to be moved by one person rather than carried by two.

06

Upgradeable thinking

If the charging point you are relying on turns out not to be reliable, the charging case is the same equipment with the harness — worth deciding before you order rather than after.

Only if you already have somewhere to charge

Otherwise the charging case is the one you want.

FrequentlyAsked Questions

Before you request a quote

Buy the system case only if the crew already has a reliable charging point — a shop bench, a truck installation, a wall of chargers. If the case is where the system lives between jobs, buy the charging case; a system without one charging point is a system where somebody eventually misses a headset.

No. Same watertight Pelican Storm case, same custom foam dividers, same protection. The difference is the charging harness inside it.

The charging case is a different part number rather than a kit, so upgrading means buying the charging case. It is worth being clear about your charging arrangement before you order rather than after.

Match it to the system: SON-SC3, SON-SC5, and SON-SC10 for three-, five-, and ten-user Apex systems. Tell us the headset models as well as the count — the foam is cut for specific equipment.

Apex Connect systems have their own cases, because Connect units charge over USB rather than through the headset harness. See Apex Connect cases.

Quoted with the system

Get your systemcase quoted

Tell us the headset count and models, whether there is a ComHub in the system, and where the crew actually charges between jobs.

If the answer is "in the case", we will quote the charging version instead.
