What it is for+

Positions in low-noise environments that still need to be on the team: control rooms, office environments, heavy equipment operators in a cab, boom and bucket trucks, trainings and certifications. Apex Connect puts those people into the same full-duplex team without putting them in 24dB hearing protection they do not need.

What it needs+

Apex Connect requires a headset of your own — a Bluetooth headset, headphones, a speaker, or a wired headset plugged in. Sonetics supplies a Poly Blackwire corded headset for the role. Connect joins a Sonetics DECT system, so it is specified alongside a base station or a ComHub, not on its own.

Product overview

Apex Connect exists because not every person on a job is standing in noise, and the ones who are not still need to hear the team. It pairs with your favourite Bluetooth headsets or headphones, or takes a wired headset, and it drops that person into the same hands-free Sonetics team as the crew wearing full Apex headsets. As Sonetics puts it: increase productivity and efficiency by making sure no one is left out of the conversation.

The positions this changes are specific. A control room operator who currently gets updates by radio or by phone. A heavy equipment operator in a cab. A boom or bucket truck operator. An office or trailer position that needs to hear the crew. Trainers and trainees during certifications, where the trainee is being talked through a task in real time.

The hardware is built for a work site rather than a desk. It is rugged, watertight, and dust resistant with an IP67 rating, and it clips to a belt, slides in a pocket, or mounts on a dashboard. Battery life is 24 hours with 800 feet of range. An auto noise gate continuously adjusts the mic reduction setting, so someone speaking from a moving vehicle does not put road noise into the whole team's ears.

Sonetics builds system configurations around it: up to five Apex Connect users in one waterproof Pelican charging case with a USB charge hub, or a hybrid mix of Sonetics wireless headsets and Apex Connect users in one case. See Apex Connect cases and the APX377 wireless headsets for the positions that are in the noise.

What it does

Nobody left out of the conversation

Apex Connect is the bring-your-own-headset position on a Sonetics system. Everything below is what the unit itself does.

01

Bring your own headset or speaker

Pair a Bluetooth headset, headphones, or a speaker, or plug in a wired headset. People keep the equipment they already work with instead of standardising onto hearing protection they do not need.

Headset not included

02

Hands-free, full duplex

Talk with the team while keeping your hands on your work. No buttons, no channel to wait for.

03

IP67 durable design

Rugged, watertight, and dust resistant with an IP67 rating. It is built to be handled the way the rest of a site's equipment is handled.

IP67

04

24 hours and 800 feet

Ready when and where you need it most, with 24 hours of battery life and 800 feet of range — enough for a full shift without a swap.

Per charge

05

Ultra-portable

Clip it to a belt, slide it in a pocket, or mount it on a dashboard. It stops being something a person has to think about.

06

Auto noise gate

Apex Connect sets the optimum mic reduction setting by continuously adjusting the noise gate, so a user in a vehicle or a plant room does not fill the channel with background noise.

FrequentlyAsked Questions

Before you request a quote

No. Connect is the unit; you supply the headset. It pairs with a Bluetooth headset, headphones, or a speaker, or takes a wired headset. Sonetics supplies a Poly Blackwire corded headset for teams that want one specified with it, and we will quote either direction.

People who need to hear the team but are not standing in high noise: control room operators, office and trailer positions, equipment operators in a cab, boom and bucket truck operators, and trainers running certifications. Anyone actually exposed to site noise should be in an Apex 3-Series headset with 24dB NRR.

Yes, and Sonetics builds a system configuration for exactly that — a hybrid case carrying Sonetics wireless headsets and Apex Connect units together, up to five DECT7 users in the mix. See Apex Connect cases.

IP67 — rugged, watertight, and dust resistant. It is designed to clip to a belt on a working site rather than sit on a desk, and it carries 24 hours of battery life with 800 feet of range.

Through a system case. Sonetics builds a five-user Apex Connect case with a USB charge hub that charges five Connect units plus five additional ports for the Bluetooth headsets of your choice, with a 12V power supply included. That is the difference between a system that is ready in the morning and one that is not.
