Product overview
The SON104 is the smaller installed intercom in the Sonetics line, and the capacity is easy to misread. It connects up to four wireless base stations — which, at five full-duplex headsets per base, is up to 20 wireless headsets on one unit — and integrates an optional two-way radio.
That makes it the right answer more often than its position in the lineup suggests. A facility or a vehicle with a large crew but a single radio channel does not need a four-radio digital intercom; it needs base station capacity and one clean radio interface, which is exactly what this is.
The limits are worth being explicit about, because they are the reason to buy the digital series instead. One optional two-way radio, not four. No auxiliary device connections, so no cell phone patching. No remote head, so intercom control lives at the intercom. If any of those are on the roadmap, the SON200-Series costs less than buying twice.
Base stations come from the SON150 wireless base station, headsets from the APX377 or APX379 pages, and the step up is the SON200-Series digital intercoms.
