505 or 507+
Bluetooth is the whole difference, and it costs $100 a headset. The 505 transmits on a connected radio, carries stereo listen-through, runs 24 hours, and is rated 24dB — the same as the 507. If nobody at that seat needs a phone or a tablet in their ears, this is the model to buy.

FHW505.V2 converts easily between overhead and under-helmet wear, so one headset covers the cab and the fireground. UHW505.V2 is dedicated under-helmet. Same electronics, same price — this is purely how the headset sits on the head.

Product overview
The 505 is the 500-Series headset most seats should actually get. It transmits on a connected radio, carries stereo listen-through, runs 24 hours on a charge, and protects at 24dB — everything a firefighter needs from the platform. What it does not have is Bluetooth, and that is worth $100 a headset across a fleet.
DECT7 is what makes the audio hold up. It gives high-definition audio between crew members rather than the compressed, clipped sound analog systems produce once the pump is working — which matters most on the messages you cannot afford to repeat. Stereo listen-through is the feature crews notice first: turn it on and you hear the scene without breaking the hearing protection seal, with a volume control independent of intercom and radio.
FHW505.V2 converts between overhead and under-helmet wear. UHW505.V2 is dedicated under-helmet. Both list at $945, and red is the standard colour on both.
Buy up to the 507 models only for the seats that genuinely need Bluetooth, and down to the 503 crew headset for positions that should never key a radio. The headsets connect through a WB505R.V2 wireless base station and a 5000-Series digital intercom.

The 505 pair carries the whole 500-Series feature set except Bluetooth. That is the trade, and for most riding positions it is the right one.
Stereo listen-through
Two microphones feed scene audio into the cups so a firefighter hears the people and equipment around them without lifting a dome. Listen-through volume is independent of intercom and radio volume.
Convertible or under-helmet
FHW505.V2 converts easily for either overhead or under-helmet wear, so one headset follows a firefighter from the cab to the roof. UHW505.V2 is dedicated under-helmet.

Wire the headset straight to a portable two-way radio with a FIRECOM portable radio adapter cable, which keeps a firefighter on dispatch after they leave the base station behind.
