One WB505R.V2 carries five full-duplex DECT6 or DECT7 headsets. Six riding positions means two bases, and apparatus that run large crews are routinely built with more than one. Count the seats that need to talk, not the seats that exist.
Antennas and coverage+
The base ships with a duck antenna. Where the crew works away from the apparatus or the body blocks the signal, an external antenna moves the radiating element outside: a 12-foot magnet-mount for a temporary install, or a 17-foot permanent mount. External antennas are for exterior use only.

Product overview
The WB505R.V2 is the piece that makes a FIRECOM system wireless. It pairs up to five DECT6 or DECT7 full-duplex headsets per base, and it wires back to a 5x00D digital intercom over RJ45 so those headsets reach the apparatus radios and auxiliary devices.
DECT7 is the reason the audio holds up. It gives high-definition audio between the crew rather than the compressed, clipped sound analog systems produce once the pump is working — which matters most on the messages you cannot afford to repeat.
Two features change what the base can do beyond the cab. Headset to Multi-Base Station lets a 500-Series headset pair with up to four WB505R base stations, so a firefighter moves between rigs and connects to the nearby crew instead of dropping off the system. And in training mode, a single base station supports up to 100 listen-only students with up to three full-duplex instructor positions, with students transitioning to open talk positions using PTT.

Positions that only need to listen do not change the count on a normal system — but tell us anyway, because training configurations are counted differently.
